We’re building a collaborative, sustainable future for library materials distribution in the Midwest and beyond. This cooperative effort brings together library workers, partners, and community members to ensure reliable, equitable access to books and materials.
With the recent announcement of the closure of Baker & Taylor, libraries across the country are facing major disruptions in materials distribution and supply chains. This cooperative aims to fill that gap — not as another vendor, but as a mission-driven network built by and for libraries. Together, we can protect equitable access to books and ensure libraries aren’t left behind.
We envision a future where libraries have secure, affordable access to materials — supported by a cooperative distribution network created and governed by the library community itself.
We’re in the early stages of building this cooperative. Whether you’re a library worker, administrator, vendor, or simply someone who believes in the power of libraries — your voice matters.
You’ll receive updates and opportunities to help shape the cooperative.
This cooperative effort is currently being organized by library workers who want to ensure a sustainable distribution future.
